Context

Content freshness is important for traditional SEO and AI citations — i.e. GEO/AEO.

Keeping evergreen material accurate for search, GEO, and readers had become a full-time operational problem.

My role

I built out the freshness criteria by defining the stages of freshness (for example, a better method is available for an article VS the article is now inaccurate), built out the review process, and automated content checks as part of releases.

Actions taken

  1. Defined the criteria used to evaluate freshness.
    • Time since the last meaningful edit.
    • New information, products, or methods that changed the recommended approach.
    • Product deprecations, replacements, and merges.
  2. Created an urgency scale.
    • For example:
      • Critical: materially inaccurate or misleading.
      • Important: a better or more current method now existed.
      • Optional: useful improvements but article’s content is still up to date.
  3. Established review thresholds based on content age, importance, and product relevance.
  4. Built an AI agent that scans Gravity Wiz’s website every two weeks against the criteria.
  5. Built release-triggered automation.
    • When Gravity Wiz releases or changes a product, the automation triggers a targeted scan of affected content.
    • The agent identifies the exact pages and sections likely to require updates.
  6. Built suggested-wording generation into the agent.
    • It prepares a draft update as the starting point for human review and application.
  7. Kept approval and publishing under human control.

Results

  1. Reduced time spent managing content updates by 65%.
  2. Recorded no missed content-update opportunities under the new process.
  3. Supported renewed organic performance for evergreen resources.
